helping our friends

smile

As we grow as a company, it’s very important to us that we give something back to benefit both kids in our local community and further afield.

We passionately believe that all children should be given an equal opportunity to live a healthy and active lifestyle and to maximise their potential. So, we’re very excited that we have also now launched two of our own projects where we can help to do just that!

living with celiac

CeliacAt Ella’s Kitchen, we listen to parents and understand that children today have very specific dietary requirements. We also understand that it’s not always easy to find products that are safe, healthy, and taste good too.

That is why we have made a commitment to parents and children with Celiac Disease by partnering with the Celiac Disease Foundation (www.celiac.org).The Celiac Disease Foundation provides support, information and assistance to people affected by Celiac Disease and/or Dermatitis Herpetiformis.

The organization increases awareness amongst the general public and works closely with health care professionals, pharmaceutical and medical industries. Kids Korner is an area of the website that provides parents with helpful information for children and teens diagnosed with Celiac Disease.

At Ella’s Kitchen our First Tastes, Ella's 1 Baby Food, Fruit + Baby Rice, Baby Brekkie and Smoothie Fruits ranges are Gluten Free.

Ella’s Kitchen is dedicated to educating people about Celiac Disease and wants to offer more healthy choices for parents and kids.

spreading smiles at Kasisi

Kasisi banana baby brekkieElla's Dad grew up in Zambia and wanted to give something back to the country where he spent a happy childhood. So, we are working with Kasisi Children’s home  (www.kasisichildren.org) just outside Lusaka, spreading some big smiles on their little faces as the children tuck into our yummy baby foods which we have sent out to them along with seeds for their organic garden, printer cartridges, medicines, books and toys, essential bedding and clothing and other stuff for the 250 orphaned children who live there to enjoy.

As a more permanent legacy, we have funded the building of a new baby room at the House of Hope with patio doors leading on to a garden area. This will improve the lives of the babies tremendously, creating an area where they can play nicely protected from the rains and any cold weather. And, next, work is starting on a new pre-school with classrooms/play areas kitted out with lots of fun and interactive play equipment and learning materials where the 2-7 year olds can go each day to play and learn.

Sometimes we get too excited and make too many of our delicious products to sell. Rather than throw these away to landfill, we believe that they should go to vulnerable children who would really benefit from them. That’s why we’ve teamed up with some people who can help get our products to
them. Smiley Face

Bread sticks

Our products have been sent to children in need around the world. In 2010, our products were able to help children in the Rajanpur district of Pakistan following the flood disaster, and more recently our breadsticks were enjoyed by children in Liberia!

Our main mission at Ella’s Kitchen is to get more children eating more healthily. But if we can do our little bit to help the environment along the way, that seems like a good idea to us. We’re starting out with small steps but hope, over time, to do even more to give back to the planet we all live on. Click here to read our environmental policy.
