Environmental Policy

At Ella’s Kitchen we are committed to making healthy food for little ones with as little impact on the environment as possible. We will work towards sustainability by continuously improving our environmental management and performance.

Ella’s Kitchen complies with all relevant environmental legislation and, where we can, we strive to exceed these requirements. Our main impacts on the environment are the packaging materials we use for our yummy products, the energy used by our suppliers to make and transport our yummy products and the waste left from our various manufacturing places.

To make sure we minimize our impact on the environment we promise to:

  • Adopt principles of sustainable development in everything we do.
  • Make sure that sustainability requirements are written into our supplier contracts, our NPD and all other operational processes plus all other relevant documents.
  • Always review our packaging materials, aiming to find ways in which our packaging can be reduced and if any more sustainable materials can be used.
  • Minimize energy and water use and waste within Ella’s Tree-house by buying energy efficient equipment, separating trash, minimizing printing, re-using packaging, carrying out regular audits and maintaining awareness amongst everyone in Ella’s Tree-house.
  • Continue to buy green electricity, sustainably sourced stationary and other eco-friendly products.
  • Encourage all the team when buying products and services for Ella’s Kitchen to think carefully about our Purchasing Policy, which gives preference to companies which do their bit to cause less harm to the environment.
  • Continue to collect information and assess how sustainably all our suppliers are operating their businesses. We will work with them to reduce their energy and water use and waste in relation to our products. We will also encourage them to buy energy efficient equipment.
  • Regularly review where our yummy product ingredients come from and if there are more sustainable options for where they’re sourced and how they’re transported. .
  • Ensure that sustainable development principles are considered in all NPD, from ingredients chosen to manufacturer and packaging options plus anything else relevant.
  • Prepare, and regularly review, more detailed Action Plans for each area of our Environmental Policy.
  • Raise awareness of, and encourage joining in with, environmental matters amongst everyone working for, and connected to, Ella’s Kitchen.
  • Regularly update our customers, consumers and other stakeholders as to the work we’re doing to minimize our impact on the environment.
  • Commit to ongoing environmental education and working with relevant partners.
  • Review this environmental policy every year.
