This oat bar recipe is a healthy snack to serve warm with some ice cream a la mode or individually wrapped up and saved for later.  Go explore with your family on a hike and take a break with one of these fruit crumble bars – your little one will want to exercise and smell the fresh air all the time with these as a reward.

Ingredients

(we encourage you to use organic ingredients where possible)

2 cups whole oats
1 cup flour
2 tablespoon wheat germ
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
10 tablespoon butter
1/3 nuts, chopped (she uses almonds)
1/4 cup honey
4 pouches of Ella’s Kitchen Ella’s 1 Baby Food – apples + bananas

Method

Our wonderful friend, Catherine McCord at Weelicous.com shares her yummy Fruit crumble bars recipe with us. It’s easy peasy + deeelicous to eat and share with your friends.

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF
2. Place all the ingredients except for the Ella’s Kitchen Ella’s 1 Baby Food in a food processor.
3. Pulse until the ingredients are combined and oats and nuts are in small pieces
4. Press all but 1 cup of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 11 x 7 inch pan
5. Cover the oat mixture with the Ella’s Kitchen Ella’s 1 Baby Food – apples + bananas
6. Crumble the remaining 1 cup of oat mixture over the puree
7. Bake for 30- 35 minutes
8. Cool, cut and serve
