At Ella’s Kitchen, we listen to parents and understand that children today have very specific dietary requirements.
We also understand that it’s not always easy to find products that are safe, healthy, and taste good too.
That is why we have made a commitment to parents and children with Celiac Disease by partnering with the Celiac Disease Foundation (www.celiac.org).
The Celiac Disease Foundation provides support, information and assistance to people affected by Celiac Disease and/or Dermatitis Herpetiformis.
The organization increases awareness amongst the general public and works closely with health care professionals, pharmaceutical and medical industries. Kids Korner is an area of the web-site that provides parents with helpful information for children and teens diagnosed with Celiac Disease.
Ella’s Kitchen is dedicated to educating people about Celiac Disease and wants to offer more healthy choices for parents and kids.
Even if you are not diagnosed with Celiac Disease, we hope that you have learned a little about it. Please consider offering gluten-free products to your children’s friends so that everyone can share at snack time without anyone being left out. Children with Celiac Disease want to eat just like everyone else!
Ella's Dad set up Ella's Kitchen to offer fun, convenient and healthy food for all kids from babies through the primary school years – we hope you enjoy our scrummy yummy products!

What is Celiac Disease? It is an inherited, autoimmune disease in which the lining of the small intestine is damaged from eating gluten and other proteins found in wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats.
What causes Celiac Disease? The exact cause of Celiac Disease is unknown. The intestines contain projections (called villi) that absorb nutrients. In undiagnosed or untreated Celiac Disease, these villi become flattened. This affects the ability to absorb nutrients properly.
Can Celiac Disease be prevented? Because the exact cause is unknown, there is no known way to prevent the development of Celiac Disease. However, being aware of the risk factors (such as having a family member with the disorder or another autoimmune disease) may increase chances of early diagnosis, treatment, and a long, healthy life. If your child has Celiac Disease some symptoms include diarrhea, weight loss with a large appetite, and growth failure.
How do you treat Celiac Disease? You must follow a lifelong gluten-free diet. This allows the intestinal villi to heal. Eliminate foods, beverages, and medications that contain wheat, barley, rye, and possibly oats. You must read food and medication labels carefully to look for hidden sources of these grains and their derivatives. Since wheat and barley grains are found abundantly in the American diet, keeping to this diet is challenging. With education and planning, you will achieve the goal of healing. At Ella’s Kitchen our Stage 1 and Smoothie Fruit products are Gluten Free. They also contain NO sugar, salt, water, preservatives, thickeners, E Numbers, Genetically Modified ingredients, fructose, corn syrup, diary, egg, wheat, or lactose. They are simply 100% pure organic fruits and vegetables and are as close to home made as you can get!
Although we do not manufacture our products in a gluten-free facility, we have dedicated areas for gluten-free production and packaging, and dedicated equipment for gluten-free production. There are no gluten-free containing items allowed in the portion of our facility that produces Stage 1 and Smoothie Fruits.
